The most base human emotion is anger.
But then, something lifts us above it.
Something transcends the primal rage that tears us apart from within.
We see one of our own kind, we see a beauty that cannot be denied.
We see the intricate system of nerves, we see the head that lets us feel love.
We see the synapses that progress along our most intricate of thought patterns.
I was lost in a tide of blood, of anger, of sorrow.
Then I saw you.
You, who gave light to summer.
You, who gave warmth to winter.
You.
And God spoke all these words, saying: "Honor thy Father and thy mother, so that you may live long in the land your God is giving you."
I'm trying. Heaven knows I'm trying so damn hard.
I just want to know when my Mother will start honoring me in return.
Oh well.
This too shall pass.
Amen,
Hoji.
